On the Rock County the operating department runs the trains and moves the cars to the location they need to be in. Because crews will tend to lack experience I plan to limit the rules and options of the prototype train orders (more details under Train Orders).
The prototype of the era (1950s) that I am working from used four man crews for each train and I don't have room for that many people in my basement so I will use two man crews. The system from a crews view point is detailed in Train Crews.
My dispatcher will work off a computer screen and have their own desk and computer. The system from the dispatcher's point of view is detailed in Dispatching.
