Ever since I picked up a copy of Hawaiian Railway Album Volume 4 there was a little Baldwin 0-4-2 saddle loco I have wanted to build.

Not having access to any such model I bashed one. Although mine is a Porter it has the feel and general appearance of the Baldwin, from the sagging headlight to gas can on the saddle tank.

The model was built from a Bachman 0-4-2 Porter with a cab from a Bachman Climax  {I think}. The enlarged saddle tank is a section of a old Roundhouse {MDC} tank car kit. The smoke stack and steam generator are Bachman items.
