Well as much as it pains me to say I was inspired by the NY troublemaker MR. Littlefield after seeing his excellent article in the current Gazette. His little Doodlebug got me thinking what I had to convert to something similar.
My choice was the power unit from a Bachman HO Ballast regulator. I built the superstructure from Evergreen car siding, used Grandt line Caboose windows and doors, nut bolt washers and coupler lift bars. The coupler pockets old Kemtron with Kadee couplers. The frame and journal boxes are made of brass and streyene.
The parts list:
Power -Bachman HO ballast regulator
Body- Evergreen O scale car siding
Frame -Flat brass stock
Journal boxes- stryene
Nut/Bolt/Washers-Grandt line
Coupler lift Bars- Grandt Line
Windows and Doors-Grandt line
Headlight-Brass tube
Footboards-stryene
Exhaust pipe and muffler- stryene tube
Paint-Wal-mart gray and flat black primer
