My latest effort at building an inspection car.  You will note that I am utilizeing the enclosed body section from the San Fran. Cable Car.  Hawk 1:48 kit that has been around for awhile.  Also I have again utilized the very versitle BVM Chassis from the Tin Chicken and the new long hood and grill that Dallas has now made available.  Remember you can order separate pieces from Dallas (BVM) for ease of kitbashing.  I am still in the building/planning stages so what you now see in progress will be somewhat different when complete.

The canopy over the window is from one of my Bach. On30 railtrucks, the carriage style lights and headlights were cannabalized from various 1:48 / 1:43 trucks and buses. The side trays that hold the headlights are styrene channel and the 'cowcatcher' is from the mind of the Evil Genius himself, the Rustmeister. A Grandt Line O scale Bannister was notched on the thick side so it could be bent. When held in this slight V shape it was trapped on a small piece of styrene with AC so it now cannot return to being straight. The two channel trays on each side of the BVM long hood will probably have their share of junk to add a little more personality and charachter to the front end.

The Harris reference is based on the fact that the Famous Count de Rivet, after escapeing a repressive socialist country, made it over to the good old US of A and decided to invest in a small but growing NG RR.  His modest investment allowed the management to build an inspection car that it felt it really needed.  This will be a Jack of all Trades work car that will even deliver passengers and mail in a pinch.  The Count should be pleased.

Roof is a tissue type paper with thinned Grimy black for binder/glue to the styrene curved roof.
