Mid-Summer Picnic to Remember
From The Reporter
Mid-Summer Picnic to Remember This years mid-summer picnic and barbecue was a extra special event. Mid-summer's day is when the town meets at Sea Side park. The women bring baked goods and deserts and sit back to watch the men barbecue. Each year the barbecue part of the picnic has become more like a barbecue contest.

Fair Weather was told about all the problems the men of Eagle's Nest had moving and setting up their personal grills in Sea Side park for the event. Once he knew about the problem nothing could hold
Fair Weather back and working late into the nights before the picnic  Fair Weather constructed a mighty public grill for Sea Side park.

Mid-Summer's day was greeted with extra excitement as everyone got to the park and observed the double sided 20 foot grill that Fair Weather had installed. While the children played the men lugged their meat and grilling tools into the park. It was time for the men of Eagle's Nest to prove that they were the manly masters of cooking with fire. During the excitement of getting a place at the grill and a fire going it was decided to douse the briquettes with gas and start it from a distance using a match on a pole. The grill started fine but
Thorian stood just a little to close to the grill during the application of the match and lost his eyebrows that had just grown back from his house warming efforts last winter.

The afternoon feast was exceptional and it was with full bellies that the town observed the fireworks that were launched over Sea of Rhun in the evening. Even
Thorian was pleased with the day.
