May 2005 was lost to model railroad activity in a most positive
way. Early in May my wife and I were blessed with the birth of our
second healthy and lively son. All is going well but model
railroading took a back seat to bottles and diapers.
I managed to get a few updates done on 12 Mile Station and am
starting to find some extra time to do things so I seem making my way
out of the fog of diaper changes and lack of sleep. I am also
excited to have plans in hand for a new addition to that will
increase the size of the most important part of the house, the
basement! I will gain about 320 square feet of space for my railroad at the cost of even more construction and room preparation. I am
just guessing but I expect the wife will want me to finish the
kitchen part of the remodel before I can start on the basement again.
I hope to start building my bench work for the switching pike from
the construction scraps so with luck I can get started on it this
summer.
In any case it seem I have a very busy summer on my hands so I can
expect it to go by very quickly.
So long for now a little boy needs
feeding.
