The Buddy Shoe Company, constructed in 2001? I used north eastern scale lumber for all the wood parts heavily bracing it inside with 1/8 sq basswood to prevent warpage. I use only Weldbond white glue for wood to wood gluing. Some of the doors are scratch built some are Grandt Line. All of the windows are Grandt Line with a mixture of 6/4 on main building and Queen Anne style on the side building. The sky light is scratch built. Detail castings could be from any source as I use many different makers.
Shingles on small bump out elevated part are Campbell. Paper bags were used to make tar paper roofs. Builders in scale raised seam roofing has been acid etched and then I added color using Bragdon pigments (great product).
The cut stone foundation is from my own molds and colored using alcohol and India ink followed by a wash of white pigment in water by Woodland Scenics and then excess was removed by wiping with old t-shirt.
Concrete parking lot was laid using USA gypsum hydrocal white, 1 part hydrocal to 1/2 part water, then I used a spatula to apply it. I sanded it smooth after waiting 3-5 days for it to dry. After sanding I used a #11 Exacto blade and made the lines and cracks. I then colored the parking lot by brushing on Woodland Scenics grey pigment with some white mixed in and thinned with water. A couple days later I sprayed a coat of dull coat followed immediately with alcohol ink mixture to get into cracks and leave a fuzzy look to it. Chalks can be use also at this point to add certain features, simulated water or oil spots can also be applied.
The nail holes in the walls were applied using a dressmakers pounce wheel, sold by VINTAGE REPRODUCTIONS see their advertisement in The Narrow Gauge and Short Line Gazette.
