The Putt Putt Plot

The person who named the Lone Tree Farms rail truck the putt putt is not known, or least is not acknowledged, but everyone knows what the nickname belongs to.  For several years now, any trains who were going to Eagle's Nest down the rock valley line in the morning and were running late, were in big trouble.

Drago insisted that he was the only one who could take the farm's produce to town and Drago herded the rail truck down the tracks every morning at a walking pace.  You definitely wanted to be down the track before the putt putt or it would take you at least an extra 30 minutes to get to Eagle's Nest.  When asked about his sedately pace, the Drago replied, "I leave in plenty of time and are never late getting there".  This did not improve the attitude of the engineers who had to follow him to town several times.

For some, the frustration got to be to much and a plot was hatched.  Last week when the putt putt went into Fair Weather Took's for a oil change, a few extra improvements were made to the putt putt "for the good of the public".  To the gratitude of many, Fair Weather installed a new first gear and set the idle up - way up.  The result is a much improved transit time for the putt putt, although Drago does seem to be wound up for a while after he gets to town each morning.
