| Getting a good deal on tile |
I have found that I can get good tile from the home discount stores for about 90 cents a square foot.
If you are not putting tile directly on a concrete floor take Donboy's advice, do not install directly on wood!
Some places will tell you, you can do it, but if you do, I expect you will regret it. I put down metal grid with an air powered stapler and trowel thin set over the floor first.
It is easy to cut tile just buy or rent a wet saw. And last but not least, get knee pads!

You can get many fancy tools to mix thin set and grout but the old standby works the best for me. Just get a plastic pan and a cheap hoe. It mixes well, mixes fast and best of all, cleanup is easy.
It even costs less!
